Volkswagen dealer Al Nabooda Automobiles sets all-time sales record in UAE

After testing several refined and high-quality VW models this year such as the most under-estimated and superb Phaeton, the practical Passat Alltrack, the US-version of the spacious Passat NMS (offered only in the USA, China and the Middle East, not including Egypt), the very good value-for-money and reliable VW Jetta, the extremely advanced and very safe European-version of the Passat, the sporty and yet very enjoyable Golf GTI Convertible, the very compact and impressive VW up! and last but not least the last-week-launched Polo Blue GT with ACT (Active Cylinder Management, it was no surprise to us to read and receive today the press release about the all-time sales record for VW cars in the Middle East and GCC region.

In that regard, Al Nabooda Automobiles today announces a sales record for Volkswagen, in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, of 1,349 vehicles sold during the first half of 2012, eclipsing the same period in 2011 by 35 percent.

Al Nabooda Automobiles remains the largest Volkswagen dealer in the Middle East achieving 24 percent of total regional sales in the first half of 2012.

Al Nabooda Automobiles’ results were buoyed by the strong performance of both Tiguan and Touareg models and the iconic Golf GTI, with its legion of loyal fans in the UAE, has also proved to be a high performer in the first quarter of 2012.

“This latest sales record reinforces the Volkswagen brand’s position in Dubai and Northern Emirates’ markets. Consumers are increasingly choosing Volkswagen cars over competitors, as the firm’s blend of quality German engineering, cutting-edge technology and luxury features at an affordable price becomes increasingly well known in the region�, said Thierry Seys, Volkswagen General Manager at Al Nabooda Automobiles.

Seys added “In 2012, Al Nabooda Automobiles will continue to gain a significant share of the market with the opening of two new facilities in Fujairah and Sharjah, as well as the introduction of the eagerly awaited Passat and Polo in Dubai and the Northern Emirates markets.

“Our new showroom in Fujairah will open in the third quarter of 2012, and we’re anticipating this to further strengthen what is already an excellent start to 2012.�

With the 7th generation of the VW Golf best-seller to be launched this September at the Paris Motor Show it is expected that more VW sales records in the Middle East will be announced soon.
